Street Names<\/strong><\/p>\n Cities<\/strong><\/p>\n Use a comma to set off an individual\u2019s hometown when it is placed in apposition to a name (e.g.,\u00a0Mary Jones, Reading, and Steve Smith, Hoboken, were there<\/em>.).<\/p>\n Cities that can stand alone without a state name:<\/p>\n Academic Departments<\/strong><\/p>\n Campus Buildings<\/strong><\/p>\n Buildings<\/p>\n Popular Meetings Spaces<\/p>\n Schools<\/p>\n Centers<\/p>\n Parking Lots<\/p>\n Other on-campus terms<\/p>\n Course Titles<\/strong><\/p>\n In general, do not capitalize major areas of study, unless referring to a language (e.g.,\u00a0She is studying economics and French<\/em>.). Class titles may appear in quotes, but need not be italicized (e.g., I am taking “Religion in South America” this semester.).<\/p>\n Latin Honors<\/strong><\/p>\n Latin honors should be written in lowercase and italicized, (e.g.,\u00a0cum laude, magna cum laude and summa cum laude<\/em>).<\/p>\n Terms:<\/strong><\/p>\n Addresses Street Names When providing addresses in standard block form (i.e., mailing or return address envelopes), use the abbreviations Ave., Blvd., St., Bldg., Pkwy., etc. When writing addresses in standard text, spell out the full word (e.g.,\u00a0We met him on Montgomery Street.).
