The first full week of classes for the spring 2010 semester brings a new student initiative called Spirit Week. The Student Entertainment Board developed the week’s program of activities as a way to build a sense of pride among returning students and the entire Saint Peter’s College community. Spirit Week includes many enjoyable opportunities to celebrate school spirit with classmates, faculty, and staff. For additional information about any of the events listed below, contact J. Tuesday, January 26, 7:00 p.m., Pope Lecture Hall <\/strong>
Two of the greatest, most-inspiring sports films of all-time, “Hoosiers” and “Remember the Titans,” will be screened. Refreshments will be provided during “half-time” at these two famously spirited movies. <\/p>\n
Wednesday, January 27, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Roy Irving Theatre<\/strong>
Jay Williams was the number two overall pick by the Chicago Bulls in the 2002 NBA draft after winning a National Championship and College Basketball Player of the Year honors at Duke University. However, after playing for the Bulls only one year, Williams was in a devastating motorcycle accident. Williams will discuss his experience in basketball and his commitment to academics and community involvement off of the court. <\/p>\n
Thursday, January 28<\/strong>
Faculty and staff can show off their SPC pride by dressing down and wearing jeans, sneakers and their favorite Saint Peter’s College shirt. <\/p>\n

The Brandon Tierney Show on 1050 ESPN Radio will be broadcasting live in conjunction with Brandon Tierney’s College Basketball Campus Tour 2010, and with Spirit Week at Saint Peter’s College. <\/p>\n

Help get fired up before the Saint Peter’s men’s basketball team takes on Siena in an important conference match up. <\/p>\n
Thursday, January 28, 7:00 p.m., Yanitelli Center<\/strong>
The Peacocks will be hosting the two-time defending MAAC Champion Siena College Saints in a crucial MAAC match-up. Wear white to “white out” the Yanitelli Center.
Annual SPC All-Nighter
Friday, January 29, 9:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, Yanitelli Center<\/strong>
Enjoy the band, High Bench, in concert, followed by basketball, dodge ball, a DJ playing all night, and inflatable amusements. Enjoy special contests and giveaways including free shirts to the first 100 people through the door. Free refreshments will be provided all night long. This event raises funds and awareness for the Global Outreach team, who participates in a service trip to Ecuador.
Interfaith Day of Service and Reflection
Saturday, January 30, 9:00 a.m., Campus Ministry Office<\/strong>
Believers, seekers and friends will paint, clean and stock the food pantry at St. Lucy’s Shelter in Jersey City. Facilitated reflection from the various faith perspectives will focus on themes related to our work and context. A continental breakfast will be served. <\/p>\n
