After several weeks of preparatory work, demolition recently began on Cushing Alumni House and adjacent structures. Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Saint Peter’s College, donned a hard hat to kick off this phase of construction. A crowd gathered, watching as Dr. Cornacchia operated a large excavator to begin the dramatic process. <\/p>\n

The buildings slated for demolition occupy the site of the College’s future student center. Funding for the construction will result from Students at the Center: The Campaign for Saint Peter’s College<\/em>, the largest capital campaign in the history of Saint Peter’s.
