Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Saint Peter&rsquo;s College, donned a hard hat to kick off this phase of construction. A crowd gathered, watching as Dr. Cornacchia operated a large excavator to begin the dramatic process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"252\" hspace=\"2\" height=\"225\" align=\"right\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/images\/public relations\/demolition3.gif\" \/><br \/>The buildings slated for demolition occupy the site of the College&rsquo;s  future student center. Funding for the construction will result from <em>Students at the Center: The Campaign for Saint Peter&rsquo;s College<\/em>, the largest capital campaign in the history of Saint Peter&rsquo;s.
