From September 15 through October 15, the University will celebrate the contributions of Hispanic Americans and reflect on Saint Peter\u2019s ongoing dedication to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment. This year\u2019s theme, \u201cPioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together,\u201d resonates with the University\u2019s mission to empower the next generation of leaders and innovators.<\/p>\n<h3><b>A Legacy of Inclusion: Celebrating 25 Years as a HSI<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Last year, Saint Peter\u2019s marked its 25th anniversary as a HSI, a significant milestone in the University\u2019s history. As a HSI, Saint Peter\u2019s serves a student body that is more than 25 percent Hispanic, a reflection of its ongoing commitment to supporting the fastest-growing demographic in higher education.<\/p>\n<p>Hubert Benitez, D.D.S., Ph.D., the first Hispanic president of Saint Peter\u2019s, expressed his pride in leading a University that has long embraced its Hispanic identity. \u201cAs we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, we are reminded that our students are poised to be the leaders and innovators of tomorrow,\u201d said Dr. Benitez. \u201cThis is a time to recognize the rich cultural diversity within our University and to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our Hispanic students, faculty and alumni.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><b>Paving the Way for Latino Student Success<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>In line with its mission to support the success of Hispanic students, <a id="3dabc887ee" href=\"https:\/\/huangshizhaopin.com\/news\/2024\/09\/06\/saint-peters-university-and-hubert-benitez-d-d-s-ph-d-announce-affiliation-with-excelencia-in-educations-presidents-for-latino-student-success-network\/\">Saint Peter\u2019s University has formally affiliated with <i>Excelencia<\/i> in Education<\/a>, the nation\u2019s leading organization dedicated to accelerating Latino student success in higher education. She highlighted an event dedicated to \u201cDia de los Muertos,\u201d where students of all backgrounds came together to learn about the traditions and customs of this significant celebration. \u201cThe event was not only educational but also inclusive, allowing students to share their own experiences and participate in creative activities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Looking Ahead: A Call to Action<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>As Saint Peter\u2019s University continues its celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to take part in the various events and activities on campus and online.
