Membership is limited to the top 10 senior students who have attained the highest scholastic average in all courses for their first three years at the University.<\/p>\n The Hilsdorf Award<\/strong> The KPMG Award<\/strong> The McCaffery Award<\/strong> The Aidan C. McMullen, S.J., Memorial Fund for Excellence in Business Law<\/strong> The Robert Rigby Urban Service Award<\/strong> The Steven J. Rosen Writing Award<\/strong> The Joe Sullivan Award<\/strong> Dr. Jack Hampton Award for Excellence in Business<\/strong> The Magis Award<\/strong> The Royster Michaelmas Award for Education<\/strong> The Chacon Michaelmas Award<\/strong> The Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm Memorial Award<\/strong> In recognition of academic excellence, students are awarded the Dean\u2019s List if they have earned a term GPA of at least 3.5. To qualify, traditional day students must complete 12 semester credits and SPCS students must complete six credits in at least one eight-week term within the semester (exclusive of Pass\/Fail and developmental courses). Students with any incomplete or in-progress grades are not eligible until all courses are completed. A notation will be made on the student\u2019s academic transcript each time the Dean\u2019s List honor is achieved.<\/p>\n

\nSpecialty Awards<\/h3>\n
\nIn memory of Rev. George J. Hilsdorf, S.J., professor emeritus of chemistry, this award is presented to a student in general chemistry who displays outstanding performance in that course and potential in the field of science in general, and chemistry in particular. The award is funded by Charles McCauley, Ph.D., colleague and friend of Fr. Hilsdorf, and is awarded this year to Abanob Fekri<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n
\nIn memory of Edward V. Mahoney \u201957, a partner in the firm of KPMG, this award is presented to a student who is entering senior year as an accounting major. Selection of the award winner by the members of the Department of Accountancy and Business Law, is based on potential for professional growth in the field of public accountancy, grades in accounting, general average, and participation in extracurricular activities. The award is presented to Melanie Sagun.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\n
\nIn memory of Professor John J. McCaffery, adjunct in the Frank J. Guarini School of Business, this award is presented to an evening session senior for excellence in business administration and potential for professional growth. The award, funded by Kearfott-Singer, Professor McCaffery\u2019s family, associates at Kearfott-Singer and Saint Peter\u2019s University, is presented this year to Mario Parodi.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\n
\nIn memory of Rev. Aidan C. McMullen, S.J., professor emeritus of history and former academic dean at Saint Peter\u2019s University, this award is presented to a student in the business law minor program who displays excellence in business law studies and has an overall G.P.A. of no less than 3.0. The award, funded by Lori Ann Buza, J.D., department chair of accountancy and business law and friend of Fr. McMullen, is awarded this year to Alessandro Memmolo.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\n
\nIn memory of Robert Rigby \u201969, a Saint Peter\u2019s University graduate and a long-time director of public housing in Jersey City, this award is given to urban studies and public policy students who will be performing internships to improve people\u2019s lives in urban areas. This year, the award is given to Scarlett Guajala Maldonado.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\n
\nIn memory of Steven J. Rosen, writer, jazz musician, scholar and faculty member in the Saint Peter\u2019s University English department for 20 years, this award recognizes a talented student whose writing conveys power, commitment, clarity and insight. This year\u2019s recipient is Emily Taylor Cabana.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\n
\nIn memory of Joe Sullivan, reporter for The New York Times, for his commitment to the ideals of free speech and his dedication to New Jersey, this award is given to a student who demonstrates academic excellence and a desire to work in the field of communications. This year the recipient is Arely Sortoo<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nIn memory of Dr. Jack Hampton, this award is presented to a senior business administration major who has demonstrated outstanding scholarship and citizenship. This year\u2019s award is presented to Noelle Sprenkle<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n
\nThe Magis Award is established by the Pioneering Women of Saint Peter\u2019s, the women of the Class of 1970. The award is presented to a gender & sexuality studies minor who has a demonstrated a strong interest in social justice and\/or gender studies. This year, The Magis Award is presented to Yaniris Valerio<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n
\nEstablished in 1988, Collins Building Services, Inc. provides the cleaning services for Saint Peter\u2019s University and has initiated this award for a student committed to the practice of sustainability, with a particular interest in recycling. This year\u2019s recipients of the Collins Building Services Award for Sustainability are <\/span>Jada Matthews and Caroline Nguyen.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>.<\/div>\n
\n
\nThis award is given to a student enrolled in the Caulfield School of Education with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and involved in community service. This year\u2019s recipient of The Royster Michaelmas Award for Education is Maia Bustamante<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n
\nThe Chacon Michaelmas Award is given to a student enrolled in a Pathways Program (ASP, EOF or TRIO) who has achieved the highest cumulative GPA at the end of their junior year. This year\u2019s recipient is Amani Mustafa<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n
\nThe Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm Memorial Award is given to a political science major who demonstrates academic excellence and civic leadership. This year\u2019s recipient is Rebecca Marcillo-Gomez<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
