{"id":644,"date":"2017-02-01T15:51:07","date_gmt":"2017-02-01T20:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huangshizhaopin.com\/faculty-research-and-sponsored-programs\/?p=644"},"modified":"2017-02-03T15:53:35","modified_gmt":"2017-02-03T20:53:35","slug":"gillian-adler-english-department","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/huangshizhaopin.com\/faculty-research-and-sponsored-programs\/2017\/02\/01\/gillian-adler-english-department\/","title":{"rendered":"Gillian Adler, English Department"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gillian Adler, Visiting Assistant Professor, English,\u00a0recently received two research grants.\u00a0The first, the Franklin Research Grant from the <em>American Philosophical Society<\/em>, will help her work on her study of Geoffrey Chaucer\u2019s use of time in medievals narrative, particularly in regard to how he and other late medievals authors reimagine the temporal paradigms they inherited from ancient and patristic philosophers.\u00a0The second grant is from the\u00a0<em>Medievals Academy<\/em> of America\u00a0and supports Dr. Adler\u2019s travel expenses to the UK, where she will be giving a talk at the London Biennial Chaucer Conference\u00a0at the Institute of English Studies at the School of Advanced Study, University of London.
