Saint Peter’s will host a number of celebrations and remembrances throughout the month of February in honor of Black History Month. On February 2<\/span><\/span>, the community is invited to attend, “Reasonable or Deadly Force: Ferguson Missouri to Staten Island and…” The event will be held in McIntyre Conference Center at11:00 a.m.<\/span><\/span> and features Junius Williams, J.D., director of the Rutgers Abbott Leadership Institute. On February 4<\/span><\/span>, the University will hold a flag raising for the month, which will take place at the flag pole by the bridge at noon<\/span><\/span>. On February 9<\/span><\/span>, students are invited on a first come, first served basis to watch the film Selma<\/em>at the AMC Menlo Dine-In Theatre. Buses and dinner will be provided. A discussion will be led by Amir Billups ’08, history teacher at Central High School in Newark. The event is free to attend unless you do not show-up. On February 11<\/span><\/span>, the community is invited to attend, “The Collateral Consequences of Incarceration: Abolishing THE BOX through Student\/Community Organizing.” The event will be held in the Roy Irving Theatre at 1:00 p.m.<\/span><\/span> “What is Black Literature: African, American or More?” will be held on February 17 at 3:15 p.m.<\/span><\/span> in Pope Lecture Hall and will be led by Professor Fatima Shaik.
