Mr. Luis Javier Baro, the first secretary, also spoke about the evolving economic and political environment. The lecture was part of the academic preparation for the business program international travel course to Cuba during this year’s spring break. Forty four MBA and undergraduate business students will visit the country, meet with entrepreneurs and visit the University of Havana as part of the learning experience. Dr. Karl Alorbi, Dr. Mary Kate Naatus and Professor Ray Butkus are the faculty members leading the travel course. An ideal way to remain competitive is to pursue a graduate education, but adult learners who work full-time need a convenient locations and flexible course schedule to make that advanced degree possible.

At Saint Peter’s University, business executives are able to continue their education through the Graduate Business program, which features a trimester schedule with classes that last 11 weeks. This flexible schedule allows a student to complete approximately 24 credits in one calendar year. Courses are taught in formats of traditional classroom, blended/hybrid, 100 percent online, Saturdays and week-long. Courses are held on the Jersey City campus, the Englewood Cliffs campus and at a number of off-site business locationss. The program produces graduates who are technologically savvy, skilled in adapting to change and focused on business innovation.

The Graduate Business program offers two master’s level business degrees: a master’s in accountancy and master’s in business administration. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is a 48 credit program with concentrations in finance, management, human resource management, management information systems, healthcare administration, marketing, risk management and international business.

The campus locationss in Englewood Cliffs and Jersey City make the Graduate Business programs convenient by car or public transportation. The Englewood Cliffs campus is a picturesque site that is located within minutes of the George Washington Bridge with convenient access to major highways. Englewood Cliffs is an industry hotspot and is the home of “The Trillion Dollar Mile” as well as a number of corporate headquarters. Facilities on this branch campus include a student computer lab, Office of Enrollment Services, library, bookstore, student lounge and ample parking.

The Jersey City campus comprises nearly 25 acres in the heart of Jersey City, the second largest city in New Jersey. The campus is easily accessible by car or public transportation as it is minutes from the Journal Square PATH train.

A key message in the book resonated with the audience at the WCF this week. “I argued that risk managers are at least as capable as accountants to strive to be the chief financial officer of companies. Both parties, however, need to know finance,” said Hampton.
