    Teaching Philosophy

“I became an academic because I was moved by the power of ideas. My teaching is guided by the conviction that everyone can have an appreciation for the true, the good, and the beautiful. I take to heart Kant’s claim that all the interests of reason combine in the questions: 1. What can I know? 2. What ought I to do? 3. What may I hope? This provides a way to frame the objectives of a course, and of the academic endeavor more broadly, in a way that makes ideas relatable to students.”
